Does your lifestyle support
health and fitness? We all know that it's the little things
that really count. How do all the little things you do, on a
daily basis, add up to perfect health? If you're like the rest
of us, some of your habits are helping, and some are probably
hindering your health. Keeping a health journal is one way to
heighten your awareness of the impact of your daily habits.
Writing down your daily habits has
countless benefits. First, you'll become aware of them. Many
habits are so ingrained that we don't even think about how they
affect the quality of our lives. What types of habits should
you write down? Begin with the obvious ones: keep track of what
you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and don't forget to
record those snacks you eat without much forethought, the morning
muffin in the car, the candy from the bowl in your office kitchen,
and the second serving of dinner that you ate, in spite of the
fact that you were already full. Also record your exercise routines,
and make note of when you did or did not exercise.
Buy a small journal, one that you like
carrying around. Be sure to date your entries. Make your journal
as detailed as you like. Some people just make lists of foods
and supplements, others make note of their activities for each
day and how they were feeling. If you experience any sort of
illness, from a common cold to an allergic reaction, your health
journal will help you track important information.
Keep a journal to see how your daily
habits are helping you reach your perfect weight. If you aren't
at your perfect weight, and you aren't creating the type of
healthy lifestyle you really value, your health journal can
help you define what is, and what isn't, working for your benefit.
